Getting Started With TCG
In order to play, you must create a deck with three character cards and 30 supporting action cards. You can access your decks at any time with the Casket of Tomes Gadget that you receive after playing. There are some terms that you need to know beforehand
Elemental Dice
In the beginning of each round, you will have the chance to roll 8 elemental dice and they can be any of the seven elements as well as an “omni” dice that can be counted as any element. You will be able to reroll any dice of your choosing once by default (varies with certain action cards).
Dice are the foundation of the game and allow you to attack your opponent or play action cards (some cards do not require dice to play or can have their cost negated by other action cards).
Certain attacks may require certain elements in order to be executed which is why having the correct lineup of dice is important to execute a strategy.
Character Cards Character cards are the cards that deal and receive damage directly. You must knock out all of your opponent’s character cards in order to win the battle. They have multiple type of attacks such as:
Normal Attacks: All Normal Attacks cost 1 die that corresponds to the character’s element and two die that can be of any element (Costs can be lowered by certain action cards). They deal either 2 Physical Damage or 1 Elemental damage corresponding to the character.
Elemental Skills: All Elemental Skills cost 3 elemental dice that correspond to the character’s element (Costs can be lowered by certain action cards). Elemental Skills vary in effect so it is important to know what each character’s elemental skill does; however, the standard elemental skill simply deals 3 elemental damage corresponding to the character’s element and that is all.
Elemental Bursts: Elemental Bursts can vary in cost. They cost between 3-4 elemental dice that correspond to the character’s element. Additionally, they also require 2-3 Energy to be used (expanded upon below). Elemental Bursts, similar to Elemental Skills, can have unique effects although the standard Elemental Burst simply deals 5 elemental damage. Energy is necessary for characters to use their Elemental Bursts. 1 Energy can be gained by using a Normal Attack or Elemental Skill (the combined term for these two is often referred to as just “Skill” in the game text). Energy can also be gained by certain action cards.
Action Cards There are multiple types of action cards such as:
Equipment Cards
Support Cards
Event Cards
These cards will be explained on the next sections.
