Combat System
Introduction
Genshin Impact features action RPG style combat that includes normal attacks and charged attacks that you can combo together, abilities such as elemental skills and bursts, and other mechanics such as dodging or running. You will be able to select or join a party of up to four characters when playing the game. However, you can only control a single character at any given moment. This system leads to an active gameplay in which you must switch between different team members periodically to use elemental skills and/or bursts in order to damage the enemy, heal your team, or even to complete exploration puzzles.
Each character has their own corresponding element that is applied differently per character when performing actions such as elemental skills and elemental bursts. These elements can allow the player to cause elemental reactions when using abilities from different elements on the enemy in succession, further expanding the possibilities during combat. Characters are also assigned a specific weapon type amongst bows, polearms, swords, claymores, and catalysts. All characters have their own animations and attack ranges that vary from attacking from afar to requiring closer proximity to the enemy in order to be able to reach them.
